Deacons Closet began in 1956 as a way to provide clothing to families in need at a local Boulder church. Over the years, the mission of Deacons Closet has expanded to serve the underprivileged in Boulder and the surrounding area.

Deacons Closet Today:

Deacons Closet is part of a partner network of essential services that provide a broad spectrum of housing, medical, legal, and employment services to support Boulder’s homeless population and transition them into housing and employment as well as serving other populations in need. We do not put any requirements on our clients, they need only ask.

Many other service organizations attend our distribution events in order to provide a “one stop” resource environment for our homeless and disadvantaged community.

We are always looking for opportunities to expand and enhance our ministry by partnering with other like minded faith based, government, and private organizations to share resources and venues to better serve our clients. Please contact us to discuss partnering

While we are a FAITH BASED MINISTRY, we do not proselytize. If asked about our faith, we are certainly willing to discuss or pray with clients; HOWEVER, it is in no way a requirement to receive Deacon’s Closet services.
